”Thomas Edison valued this hypnogogic state so highly that he developed his own technique to maintain it while he worked on his inventions”wrote Brian Weiss, in his book Through Time into Healing.
“While sitting in a certain chair, Edison used relaxation and meditation techniques to reach the state of consciousness that is between sleep and wakefulness. He would hold some ball bearings in his closed hand, palm down, while resting this hand on the arm of his chair.”
“Beneath his hand he kept a metal bowl. If Edison fell asleep, his hand would open. The ball bearings would fall into the metal bowl and the noise would awaken him. Then he would repeat the process over and over again.”
In this semi wake state he would then put his ideas to paper.
Likewise, James Watt, unsure how to make engine parts rotate smoothly, dreamt of molten metal fragments falling down from the sky forming into globes as they fell. The idea of drop calling was born and ball bearings were made.
Elias Howe dreamt of people holding spears with an eye-shaped hole in its flattened point.
The result was the chain stitch sewing machine was born.
August Kekule von Stradonitz, dreamt of snakes swallowing their tails and formulated the molecular ring structure of benzene.
Albert Einstein, used a process called "combinatorial play," where he would float complex formulas around in his mind until they formed a pattern. Late in life, even Edison owned up to taking chair-borne naps whenever he needed to crystallize his thoughts.
Creativity empowers our technological society and yet it is often devalued.
To do this ”creativity must go beyond the bounds of what already is known or deductible by reason” said Dr. Arnold M. Ludwig.

Perhaps we need to stop slaving ourselves in methodical logical fashion and inspire our creativity.

How "spiritual" you are has nothing to do with what you believe but everything to do with your state of consciousness.

Do not be concerned with the fruit of your action - just give attention to the action itself. The fruit will come of its own accord. This is a powerful spiritual practice.

Every day should be a day of Thanksgiving for all the gifts of Life — sunshine, water, the luscious fruits and greens, which we receive as indirect gifts from the Great Giver.

He makes us work so that we may consciously and thankfully deserve to receive His Gifts.

The All-Sufficient One does not need the benefit of our thankful hearts, but when we are grateful to the Fountain of all gifts, our attention is concentrated for our own highest benefit upon the only Great Source of all supply.

He alone can unfailingly, un-deceivingly bestow upon us the lasting gifts of wisdom, abundance, and spiritual treasures without the confinement of any mundane measure.

There are millions of people today who are drunk with egotism, who think that they keep themselves alive because they feed themselves with their self-earned magic gold of delusion.

They never stop to think that man can neither make a grain of wheat, nor a leaf of green, nor the illusory, glittering, yellow gold, nor the paper and ink of which greenbacks are made.

Neither can he create first life independently of God — the life that gives power to the precious green papers.

For these people, Thanksgiving Day, although soiled with the blood of unthankful turkeys, is a great day of awakening. It is a day of thinking of the most important and the most forgotten Molder of our Destiny.

Millions of people who eat turkey forget to thank God at all, and think more of the turkey than of God. But many of you could thank God in meditation more consciously while munching on the meat of peace, than while dipping your lips in the gravy and the flavor-camouflaged flesh of a turkey, where once sensitiveness guarded the throne of Life.

If you eat turkey, be sure to stuff it with the best Bliss-spiced dressing of thankful remembrance of God and His highest gifts of wisdom, peace, and power to accomplish.

And thank God that you are not the turkey, to be used for the festivity of Thanksgiving!

Anyway, don’t mind my sympathy for the turkey, for I am more sympathetic toward you, who are superior to the turkey.

God is waiting to hear your unceasing knock of devotion so that He can open the Gates of Omnipresence to receive you. Whether you eat turkey or not does not matter if you will only knock hard with devotion on the doors of your heart.

Make every day a day of Thanksgiving, and continuous contentment will sparkle in your body, mind, and soul. Be sure to search for the all-freeing God from now on, until you find Him on the brink of unceasing seeking.

Since Rene Descarte, the 3 dimensional has ruled the mindset of our scientifically driven world view. Then science developed geometries based on the idea that space may be curved.

To many that idea seems almost foreign. Sure the earth is curved but mathematically we think on terms of straight lines in at least 3 dimension as standard.

Or do we?

“Is this mapping a cultural invention or a universal intuition shared by all humans regardless of culture and education?” asked a study by Stanislas Dehaene, VĂ©ronique Izard, Elizabeth Spelke and Pierre Pica published in Science of May 2008.

The study, Log or Linear? Distinct Intuitions of the Number Scale in Western and Amazonian Indigene Cultures probed number-space mappings in the Mundurucu, an Amazonian indigene group with a reduced numerical lexicon and little or no formal education.

“At all ages, the Mundurucu mapped symbolic and nonsymbolic numbers onto a logarithmic scale” concluded the researchers.
In contrast, Western adults used linear mapping with small or symbolic numbers, but for number that were not conducive to counting they used logarithmic mapping.
“Constructivist theories claim mathematics as a set of cultural inventions that are progressively refined in the history of mathematics and are slowly acquired during childhood and adolescence” the wrote.
The study attempted to find if mental construction of mathematics may have deeper foundations.
Previous psychological and neuroimaging research states a sense of number is present in humans and many other species at an early age in the substrate in the bilateral intraparietal sulcus.
Previous experiments demonstate that kindergarteners understand the task and behave nonrandomly, systematically placing smaller numbers at left and larger numbers at right. However, they “do not distribute the numbers evenly, however, and instead devote more space to small numbers, imposing a compressed logarithmic mapping.”

This study showed that adult Mundurucu Indians who had little Western education mapped numbers logarithmically.
“The concept of a linear number line appears to be a cultural invention that fails to develop in the absence of formal education” they said.

Neither linguistic competence, nor numerical vocabulary and verbal counting induced a shift from the log-to-linear mapping.

This obeys Weber's psychophysical law that states increasingly larger quantities are represented with proportionally greater imprecision observed with animal and infant studies.

However, it is contrary to Whorf's hypothesis which claims language determines the organization of thought.

In American children, logarithmic mapping does not disappear all at once, but vanishes first for small numbers and much later for larger numbers from 1 to 1000, up to fourth or sixth grade in some children.

According to Deepak Chopra our intuition is holistic.
The good doctor has told us for years that our gut feeling is less likely to be edited by ego limited ideas and ego.
Of course, many dimissed this as nonsense.
Perhaps not any more.

Difficult decisions are best handled by our unconscious minds according to psychologist Ap Dijksterhuis of the University of Amsterdam..

As decisions become complex better and happier decisions are made by allowing your unconscious to sift through the many permutations states the 2006 study published in Science.
It seems the unconscious can discover the optimal combination.
Dijksterhuis, whose team formulated the Unconscious Thought Theory, gave volunteers four minutes to pick their favourite car from a list of four based on four sets of parameter such as fuel efficiency and passanger leg room.
When the same choice was made with 12 sets attributes rather than four the voluinteers only chose the best vehicle 25 percent of the time.
If the same volunteers were distracted when shown the list, 50 percent chose the best car.
"Conscious thinkers were better able to make the best choice among simple products, whereas unconscious thinkers were better able to make the best choice among complex products," wrote Dr Dijksterhuis.
Conscious thought isrule based but because we can only conciously focus on a limited number of items, we give undue weight to some factors over others.
Thinking about something several times seems to highlight inconsistencies.
"Participants who chose their favourite poster among a set of five after thorough contemplation showed less post-choice satisfaction than participants who only looked at them briefly," said Dr Dijksterhuis.
"It has been shown that during unconscious thought large amounts of information can be integrated into a evaluative summary judgment” he said.
So there is some merit in the idea to "sleep on it."
The study concludes it is beneficial to think consciously about simple things and delegate complex thinking to the unconscious.
The project included four different studies, that included purchasing from a list of 40 items ofvarying complexity, or assessijng choice and satisfaction from purchasing complicated IKEA produicts and simpler products from Bijenkorf.
So how does doctor Dijksterhuis do it?
When an important decision comes up he gathers together and reviews all the relevant facts said Dr Dijksterhuis.
Then, he told Science: "I sit on things and rely on my gut."
So if you intend to start living beyond limits, acess your intuition.

TIME TO LEARN THE ‘BEAUTY WAY’ LIFE, WHERE CREATIVITY WITHOUT FEARFUL COMPETITION CREATES MIRACLES AND WIN/WIN FOR EVERYONE!

Lilly Finch

I once visited Mexico and took a day excursion to a remote rock island where we were to swim through a cave into the inner part of the island to sit on a white sandy beach and eat lunch. As I began to swim through the channel, I realized that the current was not helping me at all. I quickly lost all strength as every muscle in my body became fatigued. I swam and swam and swam and seemed to get nowhere. Literally just before I was losing all ability to keep my face above water, a guide quickly swam to me and said “you must swim when the current enters the cave and float when the current goes out or you WILL drown!” Wow! What a lesson. When I did this, I couldn’t believe the difference! It was as though I had to use absolutely NO effort at all! If we think from our egos, we believe we have only two choices: to TAKE MATTERS INTO OUR OWN HANDS, MAKE/FORCE/MANIPULATE (or whatever it takes) to make things happen … OR…we must sit around and wait on a miracle to happen! (Which never does?) But neither of these is accurate! The truth is that when you sit still long enough to KNOW THE TRUTH WHICH WILL ALWAYS SET YOU FREE, then the creativity and the doors of opportunity fly open! You refuse to act from desperation and instead act from INSPIRATION. You literally breathe in the ideas of Divine Source and then you ACT QUICKLY AND DECISIVELY ON THEM! And this is the kicker! It will never seem like the old hellish effort of ‘walking up hill both ways!’ It will feel EFFORTLESS! “Don’t miss it for the easiness of the way!’
Ultimate creativity flies from this new place of vision and higher perception. Ultimate creativity comes from our:
1. Clarity of vision
2. Strength of intention
3. Height of surrender
4. Depth of gratitude
Are you ready for the EASY WAY or would you rather keep swimming against the current? Find out how to have it become easy at THE SCIENCE OF HIGHER PURPOSE COURSE @ www.lilyfinch.com/codex or www.myrxforliving.com
